Building sustainable cultures of design
In addition to my product work, I love building sustainable cultures of design in teams big and small. As a design coach and agent of change, I strive to build a space centered around psychological safety. This is a space where team members can be their authentic selves, learn from failure, and openly share their thoughts and ideas.
I believe in nurturing creativity, honesty, and innovation while supporting my team on their journey to uncover their hidden talent and potential.

Winter 2022 - Texas State ComDes Exit Review
At the end of 2022, I had the honor and privilege of being a judge for Texas State’s ComDes Exit Review.
As a judge, I chose a portfolio for the Expero Digital Design Award. This portfolio represents excellence in UX/UI design and shows a clear understanding of the audience.
The design process is not always a linear path, and a good designer must adapt their process to the scope and scale of the problems while still crafting strong narratives and supporting design decisions with research and data.

Extreme Blue Intern Program- Design Thinking Education
For the past 5 years, I organized and ran the design mentor partnership with the Extreme Blue intern program. At the beginning of the internship, the coaches and I ran a "crash course" workshop on enterprise design thinking to help the teams narrow down the scope of their projects and understand their users' needs. For the next ten weeks, I continue checking in with the teams, helping them navigate their projects when it pivots and mediating any disagreements between them and their technical mentors.

Design Project management & agile practices
As a design lead at IBM, I organized my team's sprint efforts across design/dev/product. Using Github as our single source of truth and our project roadmap, I balanced project needs across the team while addressing urgent issues. My team and I have invested in the time to build best practices by following daily standups, retros. etc. Communication between our cross-function team effortlessly flowed. We were able to launch our pattern library and begin migrating teams over to Carbon 10 in a matter of a few months through our agile practices.
